## About SummarizeVideoToText

SummarizeVideoToText turns a video link into a full transcript and an AI summary in seconds. You paste a YouTube, TikTok, or Instagram URL on the homepage, and the tool returns the complete spoken text of the video together with a structured summary of what was said. There is nothing to download and nothing to install, and YouTube summaries can be generated without creating an account at all.

The transcript is the foundation of everything else. Once the words of a video exist as text, they become searchable, quotable, and easy to move into whatever tool you already work in. You can scroll the transcript, copy a passage, or send the whole thing somewhere else. On top of that transcript, the tool generates an AI summary that condenses a long recording into the points that actually matter, so you can decide whether a video is worth watching in full before you spend forty minutes on it.

Beyond the summary there are three things that make the result usable rather than just readable. The first is follow-up question answering: you can ask questions about the content of the video and get answers grounded in what was actually said, which is much faster than scrubbing a timeline looking for the moment a speaker mentioned something. The second is an automatically generated mind map that lays out the structure of the video visually, so the relationship between the sections of a talk or a tutorial is obvious at a glance. The third is export. Results can be exported to Notion, to Obsidian, or to plain Markdown, which means a summary can go straight into an existing notes system instead of being stranded in yet another web app.

Language handling is deliberately flexible. Summaries can be generated in fourteen languages, and the summary language is chosen independently of the interface language, so you can read the interface in one language and receive the summary in another. That matters for anyone studying material recorded in a language they are still learning, or for teams where the source material and the working language differ.

The people who get the most out of this are students working through recorded lectures, researchers going through conference talks and interviews, and content creators who need transcripts of their own videos for captions, blog posts, or repurposing. Anyone who watches long-form video for information rather than entertainment is doing work that a transcript plus a summary makes considerably shorter.

Pricing is freemium and deliberately simple. The free plan includes twenty minutes of transcription per month, which is enough to try the workflow on real videos rather than on a toy example. The Pro plan raises that to three hundred minutes per month. The site launched on 13 August 2026.
