## About The Agents Index

The Agents Index is the datasheet for every AI agent: what each one does, what it costs, and whether it holds under load. The agent market produces demos faster than it produces products, and most of what is written about it is either a launch announcement or a thread. The index takes the opposite approach: one page per agent, the same fields every time, sourced and checked, so that two agents can actually be compared before anybody signs up for one.

The index currently holds 95 published agents across nine categories. Coding covers agents that write, review and ship code. Support covers agents that answer customer conversations. Sales and marketing covers outbound, research and campaign agents. Research and data covers agents that gather, extract and summarise information. Voice covers speech-driven agents. Agent frameworks covers the libraries you build your own agent on. Agent platforms covers the hosted environments that run and orchestrate agents. Agent tools and infrastructure covers the surrounding parts: memory, browsers, sandboxes, evaluation and observability. Every listing sits in the category where a buyer would look for it, not where its marketing department would like it to sit.

Each entry answers the questions a buyer asks in order. What does it actually do, and is it an agent or a workflow with a chat box on top. What does it cost, on which plan, and what is metered. Can you get it today, or is it a waiting list. Every listing is sourced and checked against the vendor's own documentation and pricing pages, and carries the date it was last verified, because in this category a six-month-old claim about pricing or availability is usually wrong.

The audience is the person who has to pick one: engineering leads choosing a coding agent, support managers evaluating deflection, founders deciding between building on a framework and buying a platform, and analysts who need a defensible list rather than a screenshot of a landing page. Because the fields are the same on every page, a shortlist can be assembled in an afternoon instead of a week of open tabs.

The Agents Index is run by Matfy, a one-person team in the Netherlands, and shares its editorial approach with our sister site CitedIndex. A listing is free and stays free, with one optional paid upgrade: a one-time twenty-nine dollar fee for a do-follow link. The site is built with Next.js 16, React 19 and TypeScript, on Prisma 7 and PostgreSQL (Neon), styled with Tailwind CSS 4, authenticated with Better Auth and deployed on Vercel. Vendors who want an agent listed, corrected or re-checked can write to hello@theagentsindex.com.
